Mold is a term that is used to describe fungi that grows in the form of a multi cellular thread like structure. Mold and fungi spores are naturally occurring. When an out of the ordinary event occurs such as water intrusion mold can become more present. This can happen in many ways. For example flooding, leaking pipes, roof leaks and more. When these events occur it creates the ideal environment for mold. In order to thrive molds need moisture, humidity, and organic material (wood, paper, drywall, insulation) to provide a food source. Live mold spores act like seeds and are able to form new colonies under the right conditions. This is why it is important to have a professionals on the job.
